Intel developed a fully functional computer in 10 x 10

Intel has developed a computer ultra compact and fully functional, only 10 × 10 cm. the new design concept Next Unit of Computing (NUC) is a fully functional computer with minimum dimensions. The product was introduced by Intel in the East and in PAX show Platinum Summit last week, and has been described in ExtremeTech.
NUC is equipped with a i3/i5 Sandy Bridge processor, dual-port memory module and Thunderbolt, HDMI and USB 3.0. It also includes two PCI ports, which can be connected, for example, a sound card.

According to Intel, the NUC minicomputer is designed primarily for use in interactive terminals, but can also be used in ultra-compact home systems.

NUC would be one of the smaller PC market. The only competing product in the x 86 categories is manufactured by VIA with its Nano-ITX motherboards (12 cm), Pico-ITX (10 cm) and Mobile-ITX (6 cm). However, these plates only support VIA processors themselves.

Intel, meanwhile has managed to insert a i5 processor in the NUC, whose only limitation is, according to ExtremeTech, HD 3000 graphics performance.

NUC ExtremeTech compares with Raspberry Pi British product, launched in March that his credit card format contains an ARM processor, graphics unit built, and 256 MB of RAM. The price of Raspberry Pi is only 20 Euros. While Raspberry Pi is much smaller and lighter than NUC, ARM processor much slower than the i5 chip.
