Intel Corporation today announced the launch of the first family of configurable processor Intel Atom. At its base lay a chip Atom E600, previously codenamed "Tunnel Creek, combined with the FPGA (FPGA) from Altera company in a single package.
The family of configurable processors includes 6 Atom chips. Delivery Atom E665CT, E645CT, E665C and E645C (codename Stellarton) is scheduled to begin within 60 days, and chips E625CT and E625C - released in the 1 st quarter of 2011 cost processors range from $ 61 to $ 106 per unit in a thousand pieces .
The Intel believe the new processors will provide additional field for designers to reduce the costs of companies in the design and cost of the device, and at the same time help to reduce time to market ready-made solutions.
Atom E600C series processors are available with an extended 7-year cycle of support. Thanks to several options for integration, they can be used in segments such as industrial equipment, portable medical equipment, communications equipment, video equipment, VoIP-devices, programmable controllers and embedded computing systems.
