Newspapers of the future

LG has recently demonstrated a flexible electronic display newspaper format, which should be the first step in creating a new generation of e-readers. With his invention LG intends to make a revolution in the field of periodicals such as newspapers and magazines.

New development LG, according to company representatives, is the world's largest flexible electronic display. Its dimensions are 25 by 40 centimeters, which is several times longer used by modern format of electronic books.

The thickness of the screen no more than a millimeter, with the "newspaper" e-reader can bend and collapse. LG expects that over time the device based on its giant screen will be able to replace paper-based newspapers. This gadget under the force will not only show the video, but also in real time to upload new files, updating its content is literally on the move.

From a technical point of view of flexible display is a thin layer of transistors placed on metal foil rather than glass or transparent plastic, as in conventional e-reader.

As noted Mirror.co.uk, a problem of such devices is their lack of color. In addition, while LG showed fully working prototype, information about when the "digital paper" will appear on the market, not reported. Is also unknown how this device works with wireless controllers and slots for flash memory.
