The figure of 1 zettabyte by 2015

The world is coming do in the 'Era zettabyte’, as self-importantly called Cisco to change the unit of measurement from Exabyte’s (10 18 bytes) to the next milestone in the numerical scale: the zettabyte (10 21). According to the report prepared from time to time by the manufacturer of Internet communications, IP traffic will reach the number of 1 zettabyte by 2015. By then, adds IDC, the amount of digital information in the world will reach the figure of 7.8 zettabytes incomprehensible, four times more than what exists today: 1.8 zettabytes.
Obviously, these numbers followed by zeros countless says very little end user, who has seen his hard drive was growing from megabytes to gigabytes and terabytes reached in just one generation. The zettabyte, so to speak, would be the equivalent of 1,000 million people enchufaran a terabyte disk Internet, complete with videos, photos and documents.

The analogy is no exaggeration: in four years 3,000 million people will be connected to the Internet and individuals are the creators of 70% of all information that is channeled to the Web More numbers: the information comes increasingly from outside devices the PC, which in 2010 contributed 97% of the information and bring that in 2015 only 66%. The rest of TV, phones, tablets and modules   M2M (machine to machine).
And what comes after 'was zettabyte'? For the 'Era Yotabyte' which is just around the corner: 1,024 ZB.
